Are you looking for your next position in the Weight Control discipline? We have an outstanding opportunity for you! I’m recruiting a Weight Control Engineer for a global leading engineering company for the design, construction and operation of onshore and offshore plants and infrastructure.

They’re looking to strengthen their team at the Kinston-Upon-Thames office working on an exciting Floating Wind project working closely with the Weight Control Manager.

Key Responsibilities: Weight Control Engineer

- Establish criteria for the inclusion of resources in Weight Control project activities.

- Emphasise to all relevant stakeholders the critical significance of the weight control initiative.

- Define the organisational structure for weight control and develop the corresponding execution plan.

- Formulate and issue Weight Control Procedures.

- Strategize, develop, and distribute weight reports at regular intervals, in collaboration with the Project Technical Manager.

- Configure, operate, and maintain weight control software proficiently.

- Collaborate with the Project Technical Manager and Project Team to gather data transmitted by disciplines related to dry, lift, and operating weights of individual components.

- Review data from various engineering disciplines for overall consistency with plant layout.

- Execute, review, analyse, categorise, and process data supplied by engineering disciplines.

- Propose and coordinate corrective actions to enhance and secure the communication of data.

- Provide a precise analysis and assessment of any weight deviation or centre of gravity variation, along with their impact on project-set limits; propose corrective actions when necessary (target weight).

- Recognise and oversee weight implications arising from design changes.

Key Requirements: Weight Control Engineer

- Degree qualified engineer.

- Design experience in the weight control discipline.

- Ability to estimate, monitor and report weights and Centre of Gravity (CoG) of dry, lift and operating weights relevant to offshore structures.

- Proficiency on Microsoft Excel and hand calculations.

- Identify and monitor weight implication due to changes in the design.

- Co-ordinate all activities related to Weight Control in accordance with project and client requirements.

- Knowledge of MathCAD would be beneficial.
